Our Green Schools committee would like to thank all who contributed to our recent Cash for Clobbers. With your help the children have this week donated €500 to The Mother of Peace Orphanage, €200 to Dundalk Simon Community and €160 to Trócaire. Well done to all involved and thank you parents for your continued support.
Our school now has a new Board of Management in place for the next 4 years. The board members are as follows; Eamonn Carolan Chairperson, Ronan Mac Namara Secretary, Emily Brennan teachers’ nominee, Peter Cooney, Carole Mulcahy and Fr. John Gilhooly. Autumn Wirth and Cathal Boylan are the newly elected parents’ nominees.
Our 6th Class over the years have done trojan work raising money for various charities including Refugee Trust, Crumlin Children’s Hospital, National Rehab Centre and St. Vincent de Paul. This year’s nominated charities are, Spraoi our ASD Classes and St. Vincent de Paul. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Our 6th Class pupils are hosting a Tea Party on Wed 2nd Dec in the school’s GP Room. The Tea Party is in aid of Spraoi and our local Saint Vincent de Paul.
Well done to our boys’ football team who last Saturday became Cumann na mBunscol champions for the second time in three years, beating Farnham NS after extra time. Our school had no written homework this week as a result. Thank you to our four members of staff who worked very hard with the boys.
All the children in the school came out to the yard to see the National Flag and a copy of the Proclamation being presented to children from 5th Class by members of the defence forces. This initiative is part of the State Centenary Programme to remember 1916 and reflect on the Republic 100 years on, and to re-imagine our future.
Our Literacy Lift Off initiative is continuing this week in Ms Clinton’s room. It will commence for Ms Power’s 2nd Class on Mon 2nd Nov. Any parent willing to help out should contact Liz in the office.
